I was born September 27,
1957 in Woodstock, Ontario.
I lived in Woodstock for the first three years of my life, then the family moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba. The only clear memories I have of 'Winterpeg' are of my dad shoveling snow and having the worst Grade 1 teacher on the face of the planet.
Fate smiled upon me and we moved from Winnipeg to St. Catharines during Grade 1, and I ended up having the best Grade 1 teacher in Ontario. Talk about extremes!
I spent my grade school years in Lakebreeze Public School; my middle school years (Grades 7 & 8) were spent at Dalewood Senior Public School.
From there Grade 9 was spent at Grantham High School.
The family moved from St. Catharines to Burlington at the close of Grade 9, and I spent the remainder of my high school career at Lord Elgin High School. I have a lot of great memories of that school. It has now 'closed' and 'merged' with General Brock High School to become Robert Bateman High School. I was fortunate enough to have been taught art by the great man himself. He and I also sang together in one of the many shows put on at LEHS in the 70's.
I attended McMaster University in the B. Comm. program until the lure of money through a co-op education took hold, and I changed to Mohawk College for a 3 year diploma in computer science. I have recently completed my certificate in Human Resources Management.
I married in 1979, and with my former wife I have two wonderful children, Ryan (24) and Kelsey (15). We divorced in 1999.
I am now married to Jenny, and together we share parenting of her two fabulous children, children, Kylie (18) and Ashley (9). We are certainly busy!
For 17 years I ran a software company, Top-Down Logic, a leader in the provision of turnkey municipal computer systems in the Province of Ontario. TDL is now owned by Vadim Software, a division of Stardyne Technologies Inc.
Since 2006 I have been the Director of Relationships and Compliance for Strategic Information Technology Limited, Canada's pre-eminent banking software company, with a strong presence in world financial marketplace.
